Value of BBS "Cup" 3 pc wheels
First, I'll finally introduce myself as my Car arrived yesterday. My name is Steve, and I live in Suburban Chicago. I bought a 40 hour 05 996 Cup.
Now to my question:
What is the value of BBS 3 pc wheels for a 996 cup car? I have 2 sets with my car, and I am thinking of selling 1 set and buying 2 sets of Fikse wheels for drys, and leaving the rains on the remaining set of BBS wheels.
The 2 sets of BBS I have are different:
1st set is what comes on the car, centerlock only
2nd set is machined centers with lightening on the spokes, and can be either 5 lug, or center lock
Both sets are in immaculate condition.
Thanks in advance for the help

Why sell? Just buy one set of Fikse. Why burn the money? You just spent alot of money on a great car, use the money and buy tires and brake pad, and the nitrogen tank and wand and spare rotors, and front splitter. Then again just a thought.

I am a dealer for Fikse, and I already have all of the other stuff as well. I like to run what I sell. I firmly beleive in my products, and want to show that to my customers.
Plus I have a bitchin idea for the Fikse's

Last time I checked they cost around $4,400 new from PMNA. If someone needs them they would be worth $3,000 - $3,500. If you want to move them probably around $2,500.
Good luck and post some pictures of your car. And more when you get the Fiske's done!

It sounds like you have the new spun aluminum centers which are about $550ea retail for just the centers. I think a new set is in the $6600 retail, so you can figure a price off of that.

The wheels with both 5 lug and centerlock are lighter, they are a forged center. They are also cheaper when new than the centerlock only OEM wheels which come on the car. The OEM wheels needed to be ordered through Porsche Motorsports I think.
The OEM were more valuable, as they were required for IMSA GT3 cup and even for PCA for a while. Now I don't think they are required for anything so they should be about the same price as the aftermarket BBS wheels which are now legal in PCA and everywhere else. I think the Fikse are legal in PCA GT3 if they are three piece and same specs as the stock wheels.
Good luck and let me know if you have any 997 GT3 cup wheels for sale.

Three Wheelin'
I might be interested, but I think the prices here sounds a bit high. I paid $7800 for my last 2 sets from BBS motorsports (albeit in 2006). $2000-2500 sounds reasonable. PM me if you're in that ballpark (must be the 5 lug)

You purrchased them prior to the bankruptcy/takeover of BBS by Porsche. Prices will be a bit different now.

3k is a good price these days for a pristine set. 2500k for used/good. Used to be that to be in class You were required to use OEM/Cup, then just BBS, now I guess its all ok as long as the width and offset fall within the update backdate list of what was available. So probably 2500-3000 for pristine-good/late and 2 k for used/rough late or pristine early, $1500 for rough /early would be the correct adjustment all things considered. Hope that helps.

what were the off sets on the ealry wheels vs the later wheels?
Glen, What do you feel the machined center 5lug/centerlock ones are worth? those are the ones im leaning toward selling.
Thanks for the congrats, I know how fun they are, I have driven several of them. Thats why I bought one!

I think the above stands true. Reason being, the 5lug/centerlock is more versatile and lighter. Can fit a street GT3 in addition to the Cup, also has some other apps. It is less durable over time however, the centers crack out a bit earlier. The OEM Cup are bulletbroof, very very rare to see a center bend, much less crack. they are a bit heavier but very very durable, usually You just throw another rim half on after they get pranged or even just have them straightened/trued if its not a major prang and send them back out for more.
