Are these tires any good? Hoosier is running a special on all the discontinued tires and they have the correct sizes for the cup but not sure how they compare to the Michelins? But they are half the price....

In a word "NO". They are 1/2 the price, but not 1/2 the tire!

Thanks. I figured there was a reason no one was jumping all over them.

however, if you aren't racing, times don't matter, but fun does. As long as the tyre life holds up, why not use the cheapest tyres possible. Each year I usually drop by one of the tyre manufacturer's test centres and have a day destroying tyres at the end of the season. When going sideways and blowing smoke who cares if the tyres aren't state of the art.

Michelins are the best tire for the cup tire. Hoosier (GA tire) is about one second slower on most tracks. They do wear well, though if you don't mind giving up the second. They work best at 36 psi hot.

I ran a few sets on my GT3. They are just "ok" for DE only. Way too hard for anything else. I would not buy them again.

I tried them on my 996. They are ok for DE, last twice as long as R6's but not as much grip and the taller rears pissed off my ABS. Was interesting to spend time on them though as it helped me push harder to keep up with times and other cars that I am usually as quick or quicker than. I would say at least 1 second per 60 slower if not more.
