Has anyone changed the driver's side door cross bars to Nascar style door bars ? Better side impact protection ??? I think there was a thread about this a long time ago but i cannot find it by searching the forums .

Yes Andy Its hard to tell from the pics but the last 2 pictures are looking at the floor board in the 997

Yup, get Opperman to do it. He's not cheap, but you get what you pay for!

If you want, we have a 2001 996 tub with undisturbed full cage. We could ship it, you could cut it out if you wanted to get crazy. We also have a full 997 tub with cage.

Andy, the update bar makes the existing cage appear as the NASCAR bars. There's a Porsche update in the books about this, but I can email you a pic if you prefer. The bar sits on top of the existing bars to make up a 3rd cross bar for driver protection.

I was under the impression that those extra doorbars were added to comply with GrandAM rules, and not applied to all of the cupcars by Porsche?

looks like a window net there. Does Grand Am require that or do you guys eliminate the windows for ventilation ?

Notice that there were two forward bars from the front down bars to the front bulkhead. Can we get better pictures of this?

How did you accomodate the fuse panel?
