We are still playing with setup and I am diverging from the norm; I am probably wrong, but I have to try something different.
What you have described is normal for Yoko slicks (unfortunately). They were designed for under an hour of really competitive use!
What tires are U using?

I am describing my personal experience with Michelin Yellow Cup tires, which also proved fragile at Road America. The Blues, which may be all we can (and perhaps should) use are now north of $2000 a set, with tax & shipping.

I need to revise my estimate of running cost for my first 30-35 hours. Over $1000 per hour, if you have any reserve at all to amortize engine and gearbox. YMMV

Budget $1000 per hour and try not to stuff it in a wall and you will be about break even.
