Vin Number..
Does a retubbed cup car convey it's original vin or does it get a new vin?
Where would the vin be found if it doesn't show on windshield?

What generation Cup are we talking?
A new tub will get the original VIN in it, it never changes. Hence why you have to surrender the original VIN plate to Porsche before they will issue a new tub out.
All of the Cups have a VIN under the windshield; but that important one is on the right side of the front tub (997's), and on the 991's it is under the drivers seat stamped in the floor.

Yes and no - on the 991's it's a small plastic piece that is removable once the glass is cut out. It can be transferred to the new tub, but the important one is the stamped VIN in the drivers side floor.
The 997's it was a sticker under the glass that isn't removable but should be on the new replacement tub. And again, the important VIN is in the right side in front of the cowl that is a tab near the front right shock tower with the VIN.

The car in question is a 2011 997.2 cup
There is no vin under windshield.
I will check the important VIN is in the right side in front of the cowl that is a tab near the front right shock tower with the VIN.
Thanks for everyone's help.
May be going the club.

The VIN isn't stamped in the gearbox or engine, there is serial number for each.

Retubbed 997.1, mine has the VIN plate on the firewall, but the windshield location is blank.
Assuming the engine and trans S/N can be checked with Porsche Motorsport to determine if they are correct for the VIN? Not that it really matters on a retub, just more out of curiosity.
