Default Old Carrera Cup livery reinstated

Thought I’d share some pics of a livery recreation I’ve had done on my 996 Cup. The car was part of the championship winning team in 2004 and 2005. This was pieced together over a 12 month period using a few old photos from 2005 when the car last raced professionally in Carrera Cup Australia. Really pleased with how it turned out.

First the original images:

And 2020 before and after:

Nice work. Got its brother down at Autometrics right now getting spruced up for some track time. Lots of 04-05 video with these two cars battling it out...

Love it Jim. These two cars seemed to share a lot of the same space on the track!

Here’s another short clip of both cars narrowly avoiding disaster (yours a lot more narrowly!) in my hometown track of Adelaide.

I can't take credit for anything other than pulling the trigger to buy it from James Papas. He did the livery...and the car looks even better in person. Really happy with the purchase.

I can't take all the credit for you car looking so good but so glad your happy with it Jim, I alongside the sign writer that did the Tekno car originally in 2004 put a lot of effort to reinstate the livery exactly as it was.. it helped that we got the original files from his old computer

On a side note I sent the same minor series sponsor decals files to spiller to use on the Glenfords car above & will be using the files again for the yellow one I'm restoring now

Thanks again James. The little decals and numbers etc are the finishing touches that set it off. It’s a huge amount of work to get it all “correct” but IMO it’s not worth doing at all unless you go as close to 100% as possible. James are you going ‘03, ‘04 or ‘05 with your Fitzy car?

No problem happy to help..

Ill probably go with the way the Fitzgerald car looked in 2004, big brand sponsors, rear quarter windows vented & number 3 on the doors for finishing 3rd in the championship the year before

Great livery! I love to see these early cars being brought back. If any of you are considering bringing back a car from the Infineon series I have 76 photos from the team that campaigned Marco Werner in a 996 Cup. I'm happy to share, just e-mail me and I'll link you to my dropbox. Obviously most photos are of their team but you might see your car in the race photos. jerryaustin@verizon.net
