2005 Supercup car history search
I acquired a 2005 997 Cup Car that I believe is from the supercup series. VIN#WP0ZZZ99Z5S798021. I assume its #21 of the 35 produced based on my rennlist search. Any idea where I can look to find the history of the car? The previous owner primarily did DEs with it and maybe some SCCA, but I didn't get much info on the owner before him. It has several tech stickers log books from IMSA, HSR, POC. Some of the wheels have Kelly Moss on the inside and the lightly faded area around the dash looks like Kelly Moss Racing. Im more interested in the original owner and race team/driver. Is there any way to find this out? I suppose I could call Kelly Moss or start doing detective calling of the previous owners. Wondering if anyone here has a contact with Porsche that may be able to give me something. Anything. Weird crap like this fascinates me.

I’ve had several PMs for contact information and thank you all. I’ve already received one reply from Porsche below. Thought I’d leave it here.
In regards to your request, I honestly do not have that much information which I can provide you.
The only information I can give you are the following and are only reflecting the status of the car at the time of its delivery. Any changes on components, chassis etc. are neither monitored nor considered.
Production number: 2459 675
VIN: WPO ZZZ 99 Z5S 79 8021
Engine number: M96/72 635 22 522
Gearbox number: G97/60 2002 077
And yes you are right with your assumption, that the car was entered in Supercup and the number of produced cars in that batch was about 35 units.
I hope that these information were anyhow helpful.
In case of any questions please feel free to get back to me.
Up to then, I wish you all the best, stay healthy and have a nice weekend.

I love this stuff too. Considering the car is #21, it looks like Konrad Motorsports is who campaigned the car first. They are still in operation and I’m hoping to get an email out to them this weekend to inquire.
In the meantime, I’m in the process of sorting out some bugs and may run it at the glen. Such a raw experience and a joy to drive. However, with carnage being a regular event lately with PCA and this car being somewhat unique, I have some hesitancy.

Also love this stuff. I bought the Vertu 15 car that Matthias Weiland campaigned for 2 years before it came over here and ran Grand Am and ALMS before getting crashed at Daytona in 2010.
