Default New Wing Market Research

Guys,

Porsche Motorsports is in the process of making the 996 and 997.1 wings no longer available.

We are looking at the opportunity to start making replica wings in clear carbon fiber made in the USA, high quality for sub $2000 each.

There are significant start up costs that would need to be incurred, but the end result would be a wing that could be purchased that would be PCA legal, high quality, and clear carbon fiber, so great looks.

These would also be able to be mounted to Caymans using the interseries tail bases and our uprights and plenty of other applications.

We are looking for your feedback on this project.

Thanks

Ed

I really want to put a cup wing and decklid on my car - but I don't think that helps you at all....

Hi Ed, would this be an exact copy or a reasonable replacement. I have not seen a aftermarket 6cup wing that replicates the built in lip (10mm?) on the back edge of the OEM 6cup wings.

Hi Bob,

Are you talking about the Gurney flap? I was under the impression that those were a PoMo add-on. I just bought one from Josh.

No there is a defined change in wing angle at the tail edge of the wing where the Gurney flap would be attached. Hard to see and most don't know it is there. Only seem on a OEM 6cup wing.

A photo of what you are seeing, Bob, would help.

I have a factory 997.1 wing fresh from Motorsports and there is nothing like that on it that I can tell.

Thanks
