Thank you for the link! There we have it, page 21, the 996RSR upright has 12mm higher axle centerline than street RS upright.

All great info!! I will also add that I verified with Porsche and the 996GT3RS upright is the IDENTICAL part as the 997.1GT3 upright (steel brake version). I suspect that the Cup and RSR upright have identical (or very similar) pickup points as their ride heights are similar.

Yes Cup have 12mm lower lca attachment point becouse the race car runs lower and have bigger tires

alot of street people just buy race parts becouse it sounds cool but have not a clue what they are doing. They are making the handling worse then stock but thinking they are upgrading

^^^ This! I also get people calling me at the shop wanting Cup ride height on street car. Each time I'd explain there's a difference in geometry and tire height but usually that's not what the caller wants to hear and they get what they want done somewhere else. None the wiser I suppose

John, it's 94. Dated 2007. 996.1 ABS sensor is bolt on. One 997.1 ABS sensor came with uprights.

Thanks Pete. That's what I figured. Those are 997.1 PCCB uprights, same exact geometry as the 996GT3RS uprights which use 350 brakes.

Looking at the above, looks like my shop installed the street version, while in the end they could have gone with the RSR versions based on the spacers required to get the correct roll centers.

ALL of them are for 996 style ABS sensor!!!

So, 996GT3RS and 997.1 GT3 steel, .93part) is absolutely the same part. On the left is 996GT3RS, on the right 997.1GT3 steel part

Good pics. Thanks for posting those. Yep, that all checks as I thought. The 996GT3RS uprights have now been superseded to the the 997.1GT3 uprights with 350 brakes (.93). I ordered the .94s as I have the 380 brakes. I will pair these with the rear 996GT3RS uprights and the RS rear side carriers. Basically all this is identical to the 997Cup stuff except the pick up points are 12mm higher on the RS parts to account for the 20mm higher ride height I'm running compared to a Cup. I also have front 996RSR subframes but will likely to need them as I can fine-tune the roll centers via the RSR trunnion pins which will allow 8mm of adjustment.

Those are the .95s which use the 997 ABS sensor along with the different tension bolt. Those were used on the 997.2 cars and Porsche raised the pickup point on those likely due to the fact that the rear track was wider on the 997.2s compared to the .1s. That's the only upright you could use on your car due to the new generation ABS sensor.

Willy077,

The shock bodies were cut down and the internals were rebuilt and custom valved for this application so the bodies would not extend past the bottom of the upright shock mounting points. Therefore, allowing the front driveshafts to be installed without any issues. The driveshafts have 10mm spacers as well.
