i like to estimate a lot lower and live in ignorant bliss. with cup cars, and really most race cars, you have to not count, not estimate and just enjoy it but expect it to cost always more than expected. if you have the disposable income to enjoy it, go for it. if you dont forget cups, forget caymans, maybe a spec boxster would be the cheapest to run but still more than a spec miata. its unfortunate, because it eliminates many great drivers, great young athletes from the sports, but its as expensive of a sport as it gets. aint near flying planes or racing sailboats, but its costs. but wicked fun.
