Default Let's gather and share diy upgrades and mods thread

I've searched and there are several upgrade and mod threads but not all gathered in one place and thought it would be good to have a thread for upgrades, both mechanical and cosmetic for common and easy diy tweaks. If have upgrades you've performed, please include - and most important - include links to where find and pictures!

So far on my new to me '08 CTT, I have done/doing the following:

- Added 22" rims and Pirelli Scorpion tires

Turn wheels inward. Remove 5 screws. Pull back wheel liner. Access 2 screws holding in the reflector and disconnect wire with a pull. Add new and reinstall.

Oem slip off. Drill holes in pedals and use included hardware.

They are translucent plastic. Just take apart cluster, pull needles, place these panels and reassemble.

Apologies, the web interface was hard to use and clearly jumbled up many of the photos.

Yes a 97 f355 spider. Bought it in April. Very fun and best sounding car ever.

More info on the aluminum gauges? I can't see where they have cayenne options on that German website link. Thx!

Very nice mods btw!

8202632-

The link goes direct to the page of all cayenne choices/colors, pasted again below. Just contact Michael directly via email, he's very helpful. He doesn't show turbo versions on site but makes those as what I have... he'll ask for a photo of your cluster.

simple stuff on my 2014 Cayenne turbo...

Despite the car having the gloss black trim package, it had a brushed chrome strip on the bottom of the lift gate. Bought the gloss black trim piece from sun coast parts for $56. Heated the old trim strip with heat gun, pulled it off, new one went on with included adhesive strips.

Next I bought a can of gloss black rubber spray coating, masked a rough rectangle around the "Cayenne turbo", sprayed several coats, let dry then peeled away the overspray around the lettering. I made a plastic "toothpick" by slicing off a sliver from an old plastic credit card, which i used to start the peeling from tight spots in the lettering (the plastic toothpick won't mar the paint and wooden toothpicks seem a little too soft.)

Whole project cost me $66, and tied up the look of the whole car. I decided to leave the exhaust tips as they were, but have a can of gloss black high heat grill paint if I want to make them black without paying $995 for the OEM gloss black tips.

May plastic-dip the wheels black just to protect them for winter. "We're not in Florida anymore Toto!"
