2011 Cayenne - What's in the back driver side cubby?
Hello everyone,
2007 Cayman S owner here. Looking to add a 2011 or 2012 Cayenne to accompany it.
I've seen on most cayenne's there is an open area with a small built in cargo net on the drivers side of the cargo area. On a couple, I have seen what kind of looks like a subwoofer. I thought though that the subwoofer was in the spare tire area? So what is this?
Versus the majority that have this:
Thanks!!

Now that I look back through the pictures from the listings that I grabbed those from, 4 zone A/C makes perfect sense. Both of those Cayennes have additional buttons on the back of the center console for the rear passengers, while most others don't. Also, the first two pictured both have bose.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Interestingly it appears PDCC and PTVPlus are not available on the diesel model either. Must be something about its different 4wd system, as the Hybrid doesn't have PDCC or PTVPlus available either.

Isn't the Adblue in the spare tire section? I don't have one so I wouldn't know...

From what I've heard on the PDCC, it's the shape/size of the motor. I'm not convinced of that either though as there is a fair amount of room when you take the beauty panels off.
No idea about the lack of PTV.

Do you know what it is about the diesel that they use a mechanical 4x4 system instead of the electric clutch version like the other models? It's not due to expense, since the base model has the electric clutch version...
Just curious!

Me? I have no idea.
My best guesses are invalidated by all the models having the same towing capacity and the Turbo putting down more torque.
I believe I read that the Hybrid (958.1) uses the same transfer case, but don't quote me on that.

Yes... you tend to be one of the more enthusiastic and knowledgable diesel folks on here. And yes, the hybrid also uses the same mechanical center differential system as the diesel.
