Default Cayenne purchase

Hi guys and gals,

I am looking to purchase a 04 to 06 Cayenne S in Australia (my number one Porsche choice of a 928 will have to wait some more.....)
Looking for some info/ input as to what should be relatively safe mileage for one - I would intend on keeping for 5+ years....?
I have read about most of the associated problems with these cars and nothing sounds overly scary.
I can get some with between 150000km and up to 200000km (90000 to 125000 miles) and ones with around 100000km (60000 miles).
Problem being there is in most cases a $10k price difference between high vs low km - up to $25k for higher km and up to $35k for lower km.
Are early Cayenne's with the higher km a safe bet?
I know the old adage of buying the best you can afford, but is spending up to $10k extra on lower km really worth it?
Added issue is that there is only one car locally that I can look at, all the rest are interstate...

I would be doing the majority of maintenance/ repairs myself.

Say something like this http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...SSE-AD-3281261 over something like this http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de...GC-AD-17431465 ??

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Adam

It's amazing how much more cars cost down under. A 995S goes for about $8-12k in the states.

I don't think the extra $10k is worth it. The known problems and wear-outs between 60k and 100k won't cost that much to fix - especially if you can do some of them yourself, which you absolutely can.

Thanks Shawn, I am starting to think that.

Cheers

A friend of mine spent a couple years in aussie and I remember him saying he had his car shipped there for $3,000. Got to be a way to make money in that somehow!

Remember they drive on the other side of the road...... ;-)

I was gonna do that when I thought I was headed there to live but I had RHD vehicles at the time anyway

There will be inspections and possibly duties (I remember crunching the numbers at the time and it was still worthwhile)

I know some Aussies that live in the UK now and they were making a killing shipping high end cars over from there
