My second set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires were installed this morning, along with a four-wheel alignment. The car is driving great! I still believe this is the best tire I've had on the Cayenne.
Unfortunately, a rock shattered the windshield driving home on I-70. This is the windshield that was just installed in February. That makes four windshield replacements for our family since Feburary - one on my C4S and one on my son's Subaru along with two for the Cayenne. I'm certainly glad I have the $0 deductible auto glass policy!

Sorry to hear about the windshields, good luck with the next replacement.
I'll be due a brake job and 4 new tires over the winter, I was going to try your DWS' on your (past) recommendations.

DWS are great in light snow. If you have more than 5 inches, I suggest a deducted winter tire.

sounds like they are better in snow during the first phase of use..
The ExtremeContact DWS features Tuned Performance Indicators — visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has sufficient tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and light snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has sufficient tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. And after the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only.

The "S" wears away pretty quickly! It seems like it was gone in the first 15,000 miles.

I'm running Mich. Pilot Sport Plus' (A/S tire) on the 993. Since I drive it during our winter (cold & wet but not enough that it would justify snow tires) I think they're a good compromise. If the car was a track car I would have dedicated summer tires but the P.S's have been outstanding. No complaints from me.

Not to revive an age old thread, but I installed these yesterday, and so far I'm hitting them. My other choice would've been Yokohamas. The Continental seems to ride rough to me.
What am I missing here, Don?
