1 8mm hex drain plug and 36mm oil filter housing. Use a new washer on the drain plug and new Oring on filter housing.
Takes longer to remove and re-install the under engine covers.

True dat, took me for ever to find all the fasteners. I didn't pull the back shield because I was working under the truck raised to special height. I figured that by pulling the leading edge down just a little, I could have a clear shot at the drain pan. Of course the hot oil made me flinch which let a jet shoot out of the cover and right into my lap. Oh well. The filter cover I bought the shallow dish 36mm socket off Amazon for $9, very worth it. Couldn't fit my big torque wrench on the filter when going back in, so just took it really easy. One trick I used was to push both ends of the new filter onto the housing before installing, so the filter will fit easily over the internal raised center of the filter housing.

Use a piece of bent cardboard under the drain so you dont have to remove the rear shield or worry about the splash effect.
I also have a shallow 36mm socket which I consider a must.
Agree with installing filter firmly in housing after a good cleaning then re-install on engine.
