Squeaky sway bars... drive me nuts!
Hi all,
How do you typically handle the bushing become squeaky?
On my 996, sway bars - especially the rear one tend to become really loud and I need to apply a bit of grease every 3-4 months based on miles driven.
I have tried regular automative grease, white lithium grease, same effect after a while...
A friend recommended teflon tape, have you tried this?
Thanks

Three Wheelin'
Are the bushings OEM?
I have a 993 and running TRG front and rear swaybars with their delrin bushings. These bushings are a high density engineering plastic. I apply a good amount of Never-Seeze to the contact area of the shaft and bushing. No squeak and long life as the Never-Seeze does not 'wash out'.
Good Luck!

No they're the Eibach polyurethane ones that came with the sway bars. They do a bit of squeak but after more investigation these are the rear dampers that got loose and one got squeaky.
