Default First thing to do to a 928S.

Hey all,

I have a 1986.5 928 S, auto.

What should be my first "mod?"

The car already has enough power for me stock, I need a better suspension. Any suggestions?

9 Two 8,

You know, they handle pretty darn well even as stock. The PO of mine (89 S4) had lowered it almost 2.5 inches overall and it rode so stiff and bottomed out so much that it was really incredible how well it handles and drives now that I have restored the ride height to factory specs.

I have driven some 928's with both the Koni / Hypercoil setup that DEVEK promotes and the Bilstein / Eibach setup that 928 Specialists' promote and both of those make really good handling setups as well. Much better suited for the track than the stock suspension. I think it's just a matter of what you can afford, if you want internal or external adjustability and how much compliance you are willing to loose over stock.

I know this isn't suspension, but adding an RMB is probably the single most bang (or bwaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh) for the buck that any 928 owner can put on his machine.

Good luck.

Rob

How about wheels and tires? What are you running now? As far as I'm concerned, the wheels and tires are the single most item to draw attention to a car.
