Default severe brake stutter

I could use some help with a brake problem I've developed DEing my 84 911. I develop a severe brake vibration once my brakes get hot. The problem is directly related to heat. The problem does not exist when the brakes are cool. The rotors are not warped. The rotors and pads are new.

Some are telling me that the problem might be caused by the additional traction provided by the Michelin Cup tires that I am running this year. I did not have this problem in the past, with my Yokohamas.

Others are telling me to duct air to my brakes. OK, but why has this become a problem suddenly, and not gradually.

Four weeks ago, I broke a strut at WGI. I think this was caused by the severe brake stutter. Yesterday, I lost the steering column bearing at WGI. (makes for very entertaining braking if you combine it with the stutter; its like the entire dash was alive). I blame this also on the severe feedback thru the steering wheel.

Any suggestions? Some have proposed different rotors. The ones on the car are stock.

I'm tempted to change my spoiler and duct air to the rotors. Big brakes are not in my budget. How do people Club Race in the stock classes with stock brakes?

I tried modifying my style to a more "jabbing" braking style. It worked to a degree but trailbraking was out of the question. Getting through "the boot" was tough because the straights were too short to cool the brakes.

In my opinion, the car is untrackable in its current state. ANy help would be appreciated.

I had and have seen similar problems on other cars which turned out to be bad struts. Though this is usually more of a problem w/ big brakes.

What pads are you using? Some are notorious for chunking. Slotted rotors help w/ this issue.

ducting(as large as possible!) to the rotor eye w/ blockoffs is critical for the heavier/faster 911 variants like the late Carreras. That will extend the time before the fluid boils.

Another thought, the hubs can also go bad, they can crack and the bearing race can also be pounded out. It would be amplified by thermal expansion.
