Single piece exhaust pipe. Possible?
So, I took the 951 to the local exhaust shop to get some leaks fixed and get a new can installed.
Long story short, picture tells a thousand words... here is what I got back, in a nutshell.
So, now I'm hunting down a new header back piping system, and a basic (but good flowing and nice sounding) can. I'm thinking the stock exhaust pipe is 2.75 or 3in, am I wrong? I want to keep the porsche designed dimentions as much as possible. I've also come to understand that I should have as little change in pipe size as possible in the system, is this also correct thinking?
Can the exhaust pipe from the headers back (deleting the cat) be mandrel bent instead of pieced and welded? Is there any shops/sites that do this for 951's? Recommendations on basic cans (no need for titanium race set ups or anything) is also greatly appreciated.
