Heat exchangers, do I need these?
I am looking into getting headers and have seen some with and without heat exchangers...do I need the heat exchangers? I live in Northern MN and do NOT use this car in the winter, if that helps...
Thanks!
Thanks!

You may save a few pounds getting the headers without the heat exchangers, but as AES says, they help with defrosting the windshield in the winter or summer.
Unless it's a track car, never to be used on the road, I would get them. You might find that you want to go for a drive on a nice day/night and it's a little chilly out, then wishing you had heat.
Also, you never know if and when you might sell the car and heat might be important to someone else.
The name comes from the fact that the exhaust gasses are sent out the exhaust pipes, which are surrounded by sheetmetal. Air is forced through this sheetmetal one one end, picks up the heat from the exhaust pipes and then exits the other end and goes to the passenger compartment to heat the interior/defog the windshield.
