Thumbs up 951 Upgrades what is the best!!!!!

I am having trouble deciding which bolt-ons to buy from which company. When alls said and done I want close to 400 RWHP, good handling, better braking, and some body mods. I would really like to hear a Huntley vs. Powerhaus comparison. I am leaning more towards Huntley, but I am not to set in stone, I also am wandering what are the best sets of chips available as that wil be my first mod. Any advice will be a great deal of help. TIA

Have you talked to David or Chris at Powerhaus, I'm sure they can help out.

Take Care!

i am leaning towads huntleys stage 3 MAF, and their turbo stage 1 or 2(do either of these have less lag then stock, while still adding more up top) but i was also partial to powerhaus and their turbo + MAF again is there less lag, i have also opted to go with the guru chips due to the overwelming reply on the other thread. i hope all these mods can work in conjunction with each other. i really wouldlike to have something with a lot more power but has the durability to be a daily driver, and maybe in the future at a few auto X events. Don't worry i plan on getting a winter beater. Any suggestions as to what set-up would be good for my needs. I also would like a very nice sounding exhaust, not ricey but deeper and more rumble than stock(quiet at idle so i don't wake up the neighbors in the early am). Any advice would greatly help thanx

I don't think anybody has gotten over 340rwhp without race gas.

A 400 RWHP daily driver used for autocross events? OK. I guess you could list these as goals. But I'd like to point out a thing or two.

First, 400 RWHP daily driver is an oxymoron if I every heard one. You'll have to decide what you want. A race car or a daily driver - you can't have both. 400 RWHP is like what - 450 or so at the crank? That will not make a reliable daily driver.

Second, a 400 RWHP autocross car? Where would you use the power? Autocross courses are comprised of short straights, lots of turns, even more cones, and are designed by guys who don't want you to be able to use power to win. Here again, you'll have to pick one or the other - you can't have both.

Not trying to toss water on your plans, just suggesting you explore which goal you want the most and then formulate a plan of attack.

JJ951,
Power and boost are addictive. If you've got them you'll use them. Putting 300 plus HP into a 951 will lead to reliability issues. Not constant, but you'll have to tweak and maintain the car to continue to get the power. That takes both bucks and time - make sure you have plenty of both. If you don't, then you'll just have a 951 that runs crappy.

There is a huge difference between a daily driver and a car that can be driven every day. One is your ride to work and you depend on it to bring home the bacon - not a good use for a 300 hp 951. The other is a fun car that you can use for trips, errands, maybe even school - but all the while you have another car to use for important stuff, like work.

Having said all of this, I encourage you to go for what ever you want. It's your car and your money. Just make sure you know what your getting into.

Choose a tuner not a setup.

i would love to pick just one tuner but they all seem to have different parts that i like. I notice that a lot of ppl on this board have mods from multiple tuners, that is why i was thinking of a set-up.

Call everyone (all the tuners), ask them what they suggest, what sort of power they claim you'll get, and what it will cost you. Make a decision from there.
