damn that's sweet! sorry for my ignorance but are 993s MAP sensing? the reason i ask is because of the wastegate. usually the systems that use a wastegate are MAP and those that use diverter/bypass valves are MAF.
prototech? is that like protomotive? is this stage 1... 2?

karlooz,
wastegates are on every turbocharged car it controls the pressure between the headers and the turbo, meaning that it controls boost,
every turbo car also has a diverter/bypass valve too, this lets out air pressure on the inlet side of engine, between the turbo compressor and the throttle butterfly, this is to stop the compressor from slowing down due to compressing the air between the turbo and the throttle body.
you may notice that later porsches dont look like they have wastgates(such as 993 turbo, 996 turbo and so on) but they do it is intergrated in the turbo itself it is refered to as internal wastegate. these are not as good at controlling boost because of there size but are chosen by manifacturers because of cost and size(they are much smaller then having an external wastegate.
it does not make a difference if a system is maf or map. hope that helps.

Thanks for all of the comments. It is the original engine ("s") with all of the additions. Prototech is the Fort Lauderdale, Florida shop (Protomotive satellite). Dave at Prototech does outstanding work and as long as your patient, I highly recommend him. His customer service seems great so far. If your in a hurry, well.....As far as how I like the car, I Grin like a kid at Christmas everytime I walk by it....Imagine how I feel when I drive it.

I bet you car was in the trailer with mine....
I just got mine back form David as well. Super work form him, and my car is crazy fast now, but it took months.
In their defense, the hurricanes realy set them back. I'll post some pics of my new ride in a few days.
BTW...beautiful under-car photo there.

Jet 951, Thanks
Luis. One day we will meet at one of these shows. Driving impressions? very happy. We just returned from a day trip to Kissimmiee and loved every second of it through the backroads of central Florida.

One of the seals failed in the right side turbo shortly after I got home and the car started smoking. I removed it and they promptly sent it back (I chose to do the R&R). Well, after a substantial amount of lost sleep, the car never seemed to stop smoking. I tried everything from removing the intercooler to clean it out, through considering a broken ring. Luckily this group exist (Rennlist). I changed of oil and filters (and another 1000 miles of driving) LIKE MAGIC it is running like a top, the exaust has a nice color and I have stopped talking to the voices in my head..... Apparently the oil filter was the issue. I was contemplating a stick of dynamite, but now I have happy feet.
