996 997 hardtop, cover, stand and hardware - Price Adjustment
Category: Exterior - Body Parts

Item Condition: Used
Everything required to mount a hardtop to your 996/997... as some have learned it's not always as easy as just buying the top.
Arctic Silver hardtop with gray leather sides, black headliner and blue rear deck. OEM Porsche stand and fitted cover. Complete mounting hardware kit with threaded fasteners. These fit all 911 cabriolets from 1999 to 2012.
I bought this hardtop because 911 cabriolets are required to run them at Lime Rock. I thought I could just pop it on and go to the track. I learned the hard way that there are in fact 3 revisions of mounting hardware. My 04 had none of these because mounting hardware was discontinued as standard equipment with the 02 refresh. I purchased the mounting kit from Suncoast, which much to my chagrin runs about the same money as the hardtop itself. I later found the stand and cover, so being as deep as I was figured why not.
The posted price is for the entire bundle. I’d prefer to sell as a whole, but below are prices if sold individually:
Hardtop with original bayonet-style mounting hardware, excellent condition, no wear, scratches or dents - $600
OEM Porsche stand and fitted cover, stand has a little surface rust that could be easily cleaned up and cover has a little staining, but nothing terrible - $125
Complete hardware kit with threaded receivers, unlike the bayonets, these don’t rattle (this exact kit is currently $899 on sale at Suncoast) - $500
Local pickup preferred due to size, fragility and awkwardness, of the hardtop at least.

I wasn't planning on not attending due to a family commitment but that is tempting. The big problem I see is hauling it back. I have an Audi Q7 but it is about 47" wide, max is about 50" on an angle. I think the hard top is right at 50" wide so it would be so very tight if it fit at all. Probably no way to tell unless I came out and we tried. Were you planning on bringing it down anyhow or just if someone had purchased it?
