Does this reduce the appearance of minor pits in the windshield (from inside and outside)? How difficult is install to get just right - is this comparable to paint protection film or tint where professional install is a must?

Pits that already exist on the windshield? I don't know... I'd guess not really.

Having installed it myself twice now, I'd recommend pro install if you want it looking perfect or near perfect. My DIY jobs have definite imperfections - I don't really mind them but I know that kind of stuff drive some/many people nuts. Install itself is pretty easy, but it takes a lot of skill to get it perfect.

I believe some have reported issues but I've personally never noticed it.

No distortion but a slight rainbow effect when the sun hits it at a certain angle, not really an issue for me.

It's good to see you again the_vetman. I was off the forums for a few years. Thanks for adding your experience with the product.
