[QUOTE=Joe-B;10269830]Please explain the advantages. I can get a new windshield for $50 ($100 comprehensive insurance deductible, windshield replacement company pays $50).[/QUOTE
My biggest issues with replacing the glass include fighting with insurance to get an OE Glass and a poor installation which can result in creaking, vibration, scratches in paint, damaged trim and poor trim installation. I have seen all of these issues with previous glass replacement.
Why not protect and keep the original glass with proper installation?

I understand your situation. Some states and some insurance companies make it nice and easy for you to just replace your windshield. In those cases, it's preference not necessity to put ClearPlex on your glass. If your insurance company replaces with OEM, then you are set. If they put "china" glass in to replace, then that is a different story. My personal opinion, is that I don't want the factory seal on the windshield broken.
