Personally, I would be for an Executive Turbo S.
(..and you get the " thermal/noise windows" as standard, not even a question about add it or not !)

My second choice would still not be a RR, but an Aston Rapide. Imo the nicest (elegant) design of all the current 4 doors

But this is all about the question : do you choose a car for you, or do you choose a car for what the other may think about you ?
..And why I bought a Panamera some years ago, and now, after more than 50k miles, I'm on the way for getting another one.

The specs say that "thermal insulated glass" is standard, but then the configurator shows the glass getting darker with the noise insulated glass, so dunno what they mean, or if even they know it.

The real pleasure will be seeing these how these entitled girls are expecting to somehow get a ride in my rolls or expecting that im willing to give them a chance to get to know me provided we are in an appropriate social situation, and then seeing their faces when i say no - preferably in a manner that suggests that i barely acknowledge their existence - and then they slump back to their 2001 hyundai sonata.

if it were an old woman who needed help crossing the street id be cool with it though

Bumping a very old thread here.

I actually want to update you guys on a few things. I went into a Rolls Royce dealership very recently and had a horrible experience. Long story short, the sales staff seemed to have been very judgemental of me in a bad way, and they looked at me funny when I asked them some questions. Asked if I could sit in a Wraith and they said no, which was understandable since I didn't show documentation in regards to proof of funds, but the kicker here is that when I touched the leather inside (for a Dawn), the sales manager seemed to have gotten irate and told me to stop touching it. Went to the side to look at their Aston Martin and that it was ok to check out the interior, only to see that the doors were still locked, and they had no interest in helping me get inside the car. I told them I had a couple of Porsches (2012 & 2015) and I was dressed in regular clothes so it wasn't like I looked like a homeless person (who should not be judged regardless). Simply told them I had a pretty decent amount of change and was looking to buy one soon, but they acted like total aholes towards me. It literally ruined my experience and makes me to not even want a Rolls Royce in the future which sucks. As a result, I decided to leave them a nice little 1-star surprise written in a very nice 3 paragraph format that stands out like a sore thumb because 99% of their reviews are basically one or two sentences long.

The pretentiousness and snobbery of the sales staff in general was beyond belief. In a span of 30 seconds, my desire for an aspirational car like a Wraith which was something I would've worked quite hard for, was destroyed. I'll tell you what, I should pay them twice their salary and have them infiltrate my competitors business as employees because I know it would only be a matter of time before they would go out of business. S-H-E-E-S-H

Literally turned me off from high end exotic cars period. However, they didn't carry Lamborghini. I'll go check out the lambo dealership later on, but it just sucks that those cars have such low ground clearance that I'm positive that there are gonna be issues in certain areas of the city.

Looks like the Panamera turbo is gonna become a reality after all for daily driving. Will post pics one day when I get one!

yeah soon I'm gonna put the deposit down. I suppose itll get here about 4 months after ordering lets say (should be 2019 model year)

gonna talk about the transmission issues ive been reading about with one of the managers there just to verify if Porsche has fixed the issue. they have to have known about this already and should be just about finished in finding a solution

what do you think about the rolls dealership I described? is that typical behavior or what?

Years ago there was Rolls dealer in a nearby town in NJ and as I passed saw an interesting Rolls on the floor. I stopped and went in dressed like a gardener just to see the exterior. Inside were several very well dressed couples looking at other cars on the floor. The sales manager came over to me and asked If I wanted to sit in it, I answered the affirmative and then asked him why he chose me to speak to. The answer almost floored me until I thought about it, he said people get dressed up to look at the Rolls because they really can't afford them but want to make a good impression. People dressed like me usually can afford the car and aren't interested in impressing the sales staff!

Which RR dealer was that? Don't let them put you off but instead stick it to them by buying a RR from another dealer. The Wraith is so much nicer than a Panamera TT. My experience at RR have been very nice, w/ sales staff asking if I needed any help when I was just browsing.

Porsche dealers also range wildly from snobby to down-to-earth. It's been my experience that attitudes from the sales staff are filtered down from ownership and management. They just follow the bosses' lead. God only knows there're people that can afford new Porsches (or Lambos, RRs, Bentleys, etc.) that walk into the store looking like they can't pay for their next meal... from young-ins' who figured out how to make money off of becoming YouTube stars to older folks with a fat investment portfolio but couldn't give a rat's **** how they dress.

Say the new Bentley Continental - wow. It will be out in Flying Spur config before long I'm sure. Beautiful car inside and out.

Secret to dealers I find is to book in before, have some phone or email banter. Turning-up cold is never the way to go, unless you're buying a Ford Escort. RR in London won't even let you in unless you have been referred.

ya - agree - I went into my local dealer looking for this CPO pano they had advertised and didn't see it anywhere - couldn't find anybody to even ask about it.
So started a dialog with one of the internet sales managers - even then found I really needed to have an appointment to get much help - but that time the car was there finally out of the CPO prep and the floor manager found a very knowledgeable salesman to show me the car and take me on a test drive. Ended up buying it a few days later. But this dealer seems relatively understaffed - they don't have sales folks just sitting around waiting for walk-ins from what I saw. And this is right in the heart of Silicon Valley.

That isn't true. I haven't booked, phoned or emailed prior to purchasing new cars in dealerships. That includes Ford, but also Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Lexus, Volvo, and MINI.

It is because you are in Silicon Valley that new cars take priority over used cars at the Porsche dealership. Also, they are all stealers there.
