Default Panamera Brake "Hold"

2012 Panamera 4S

The "hold" light comes on occasionally but it does not seem to do so consistently. Even in the same driveway sometimes yes and sometimes no.

I think it is useful in a busy traffic. Is there a way to manually force it into "hold"? Like at a long stop light?

The owners manual is not very clear on this point.

When stopped on an incline it activates on its own. Touch the throttle and it dis-engages. I don't see any way to activate it manually.

Funny coincidence. Just this weekend I noticed the hold feature for the first time (owned the car for a year). Didn't know it had that feature. In my defense, I live in Houston.

I hate the function,,, really, your foot gets tired holding the brake, LOL. I have activated mine by accident a few times. I think if you pump the pedal fast a few times it seems to come on. First day I had the car and this happened I was scrambling at a light trying to get it to come off, LOL... Not a fan!

If you live in a place with lots of steep streets, such as San Francisco, you appreciate the hold function.

Got mine to go ON while on flat ground (by accident)?? Think it was a quick pump of the brake pedal...
