Panamera All Season Tire Recommendations
Hi all - I have a 2011 Panamera 4 in New England w/ about 50k miles. Have used all season ContiProContact 19" tires and need to replace. I am fine with the all season tires for all 4 seasons, and wondering if folks have any recommendations:
1.) stick with the ContiProContact all season
2.) get the newer (now OEM) Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus all season
3.) Other all season recommendations?
Thanks all,
gregg

Just purchased a CPO'd 2012 P4 with 25k miles on 19" Michelin. Live in Cleveland and plan to use them this winter. Hope they are good!
Then transition to 20" Turbo II's in Spring.

I would strongly recommend switching to winters and summers. Better performance and safer all around. And if your concerned about rim or tire damage from excessing mounting wear, get winter wheels.
You will appreciate once you try.

I have the stock 20" RS spyder wheels that had summer rubber on them. Went with Pirelli Cinturato P7's. Only other option was a Michelin which cost more. No experience with these P7's before as I was used to the Continental DWS tires which I really liked. We'll see how the P7's are in the Seattle area.

If you are going all season tires the Pilot Sport AS 3s add great for dry and wet performance but they suck in the snow. Continue DWA has much better snow performance but much worse dry weather and track performance.
The better option is a set of summer tires and winter tires. The Michelin Pilot Alpin 4 is a wonderful performance winter tire

I also have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my 12 P4. Just got the car two months ago, and looking to replace all 4 as they have 15K on them and original to the car. Costco seems to be the best price, even compared to TireRack. Opinions on someone from Costco installing vs. buying from a Porsche Dealer and having them installed? Worried somewhat about the TPMS being reset correctly by the Costco guys.
Thanks.
Thanks.

No need to reset TPMS when tires are replaced. car will automatically sense them. My concern is how long the battery sealed inside the unit will last and the units need replacement. My Lexus 460 sensors are over 8 years old and still working.

Thanks 2thfxr, good to know. I sort of remember reading something about that now in the manual.
I'll get a quote from the Porsche dealer as well, and compare with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus N-Spec, specifically for Panamera. That one isn't available from Costco I don't think, but is more $$ on TireRack.

Michelin Pilot A/S 3 - awesome tire, like all-season version of the magic MPSS
Michelin Pilot A/S 3 Plus - supposedly event better (next gen of A/S 3), but hard to find sizes yet.
Conti DWS 06 - huge improvement over Conti DWS in almost every way. Better than A/S 3 in very wet weather and snow, and same or slightly worse everywhere else.
I'd get A/S 3 Plus or A/S for mostly good weather driving and DWS 6 if I there was a chance of driving in the snow, slush or pouring rain.
Pay attention to numbers though A/S and A/S 3 are very different, and so are DWS and DWS 06.
Also, michelin pilot super sport are great in dry and moderate rain. So if no chance of needing to drive in wintry conditions, I'd go for these.

I ordered my 2015 GTS with 19inch Michelin all season tires. Just purchased 20 inch wheels and ordered Pilot Super Sports for warm weather. I feel this is a good combination as I don't really drive it in the snow and the all seasons are safer in the cold weather and PSS for summer performance.

FWIW, the rubber compounds used to make summer tires generally get VERY hard and non-compliant when they get cold. So, if you're not driving your panamera at all when temps dip toward freezing, you'll be fine on summer tires, but if you plan to drive in cold/dry weather, you may want all seasons, even if your panamera will never see ice/snow

Need Help... Decided to stay with 19" wheels/tires. Don't want to worsen the ride quality by going with 20" as some have said will likely happen
Owners manual states the wheel sizes for 19" tires - F- 9 X 19 and R-10 X 19. What if I found some rims that were F- 8.5 X 19 and R- 11 X 19. Not OEM. I plan to keep the All season tires.. Will these rims fit my 19" Michelin Pilot sport A/S tires without any issues? Thanks
