0 - 100
does p4s do 0-100 with the same time in comfort, sport and sport+ modes?
sport+ apparently seems a lot faster.. so if not the same for all 3 modes, what is the difference? Porsche's figure is 5s for p4s but I don't know which mode is that..

I do not think you can get the launch setting in any thing but sport+. Once launched and at full throttle, they should all be the same. But as soon as you start fluctuating the throttle or steering input, shift patterns will be drastically different changing response time and such.
P4S spec on Porsche website: Acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h 4.8 s (Sport Chrono Package 4.5 s)
I assume 4.8s does not need launch control. so the stated 4.8s is based on what mode (comfort, sport, sport+)? Any mode will achieve the same 0-100, assuming all other things being the same (throttle or steering input etc)?

Owning a 4S with Sport Plus, I can tell you that it make a good difference, accelerating in "normal" or in "Sport" or in "Sport Plus". So the time to 0-100 is certainly very different.
Also, in Launch Control mode, (I never used it yet, because of no personal interest), I'm sure, it would also make another difference.
Note : Do not get me wrong on my "no use" of the LC: I do like sport driving, i.e.: last week, I was lapping the Nürburgring, and next day, I spent a full track day in Spa, but still, ..I'm not a fan of LC !
Btw, if you like 0-100 numbers, take a look at the spec of the car that just pulverized the open record of Pikes Peak, ..i.e.: that car does 0-100 ...in 1.8 sec !!! (a Formula One does it around 3.2 sec.)
Well, it is true that it is an 875hp 4 wheels drive "car" that weight 875 kg, or the magic ratio of 1hp/1kg !
You can also take a look at this video, ..this is how a PTS does the ..0-300.
It is pretty funny, but, in term of skills, it basically just require to press the right foot completely during 40 sec ! (Look at the driver's hands on the steering wheel.)

Back to the original question, I am curious as well. For comparison we'd either need to ignore launch control, or simulate it in modes other than sport plus. And make sure the ride height was set the same and so forth. At the moment I can't imagine why there would be a difference other than the first fraction of a second.
to simplify my question... what mode did Porsche use to come up with the 'Acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h 4.8 s'? I am not obsessed with 0-100 number.. just want to know ..
I would have thought any Porsche sales person would know..

I believe it only changes the mapping on the throttle and suspension of course and that the 0-60 time would effectively be the same - 0-30 may be different/ better...surely that must be written up somewhere...so my opinion is the number is the same despite what mode you are in. I had a Panamera 2 rental in Europe last week and certainly that was what my instinct told me.
In partial answer to your question, my P4S doesn't have sport +, but I have done acceleration runs with a calibrated g-pro and the results were impressive. 0 to 60 with a 1 ft rollout was 4.3 seconds and that was done by standing on the brake in first, flooring the gas and sliding the foot off the brake. The PDK was left to choose the shift points. While I wouldn't recommend doing this often, it is possible because the clutches drag but don't engage until the brake is off.....The effect was awesome.....
