no dashboard color option
Does anyone else feel it's ridiculous there's no option to choose dashboard color regardless of interior color? I have a 2012 Panamera turbo, (which has been at the dealership for the last 2 wks for a very serious mechanical issue that isn't being taken serious) I have the cognac interior. There fore, the dashboard had to be the same. There was a time when Porsche wouldn't allow a dashboard be any other color than black b/c of reflection issues. I complained to corporate concerning this. They're response, wearing polarized sunglasses can reduce the glare! Really? I pay $155K for a car and have to wear polarized sunglasses b/c there is no option available to buy/order their cars w/a black dash regardless of interior color. Unless there's a reason for this I'm not aware of, idiotic is the way I know to describe it. Anyone interested in staging a revolution?!!
They have many two-tone interior options - black/cream, agate/cream, black/platinum grey, yachting blue/cream, marsala/cream. They are all on the configurator. Hope that helps. Sounds like you should trade your car in and order a custom-ordered car.
I know there are two-tone color options, but if you want a single color then the dashboard has to be the same. To not make it an option to have a blk dashboard regardless of interior color even on custom ordered cars, which my was is ridiculous. In my opinion, which I don't consider fact!
Do you know about the Porsche Exclusive program for the Panamera? It's available since MY12. You can design your own car to whatever your liking is. Did your dealer not inform you when you're about to purchase your car?
Woooooah there buddy, you're getting a little worked up!!!! I don't even know what that (rant snip above) meant.
If you want a black dashboard so badly, you should have gotten a car with a black interior.
Sorry to hear of the serious mechanical issues. I'm sure they are taking it seriously, it may just be one of those things that is taking them a while to resolve. I hope that's all it is.

Sans MJBird993, thx to those of you who gave some helpful input. I was told by my salesman when i ordered my car (nov/dec 2011) who's been selling for 28 yrs and is one of the most meticulous people on the planet, said there was no option to get a blk dashboard unless you get blk interior. I have a cognac dashboard b/c I wanted cognac interior. I didn't know about the exclusive program.
As for serious mechanical issue, it's taken a lot of persistence to even get their attention, but its paid off. There's a field tech scheduled to look it over. The problem happens very random and seldom, there'll be a 1/2-1 sec lag btwn one clutch disengaging and the 2nd engaging. When the 2nd engages it bangs, jolting the car. I took it in last spring after I'd had a few months and no codes come up so nothing's wrong according to Porsche. The other shifting issue is when the car's in drive and you put it in reverse, if you don't wait for it to engage in reverse, which sometimes takes a couple secs, it'll roll as though it's in neutral w/the engine turned off. Again, no codes come up. The last incident was the 15th of march, I was on a curvy mountain road. Moderate traffic moving 60ish, I was in the left lane came around sharp curve. 2 cars ahead put on breaks slightly, I did too, but had room to move over. I started into the other lane attempting to accelerate like you do and nothing happened. It was as though it was in neutral w/the engine not running. I looked in my side view mirror to see a MB S500 coming around the curve at me like a freight train. I was looking over my shoulder, I guess to see when I was going to get plowed when the clutch engaged, it had taken approx 3 secs. It jerked so hard I got a mild whiplash. Took it in next morning, no codes. So we'll see if this tech can find the problem, b/c it has one. I had a 2010 911 turbo before this and drove 3 Panamers before ordering mine and they performed perfectly. I joke that mine was made on a mon during Oktoberfest! I read of another panamera owner mention "jerky" shifting, but it was buried in a long list of frivolous complaints, so it would be hard for most to find it if they were looking for other accounts. If you've heard of this happening, put it out there. This last incident could've caused a multiple car pile up w/fatalities. Not all the cars were Panameras and S500s.
