Default Panamera Sport Turismo Won't Be Built

According to Automobile magazine Porsche is not building the Panamera Sport Turismo.

Another brilliant move.

Is that news? It was always poised as a design concept...

on the flip side they are about to undress the refresh - i think you would want to kill that design on paper so people don't hold off on the refresh purchase

This is probably good news for those of us who already own a Panamera and don't want to get whacked in resale value because something a helluva lot more attractive is now available.

I agree with Keith - it was always presented as a concept AFAIK.

The Panamera is too "new" to undergo a major redesign like the ST this soon. That being said, I'd expect to see "elements" of the ST in the 2nd generation Panamera (probably not in the facelifted Panamera that is impending)... Oh, and I wouldn't expect the 2nd generation Panamera to not have side view mirrors... think something like that may be too soon???

That being said, I'd love to see that multifunction steering wheel WITH paddles be incorporated into the facelifted panamera (doubt it) or at least the 2nd generation Panamera (more likely). It's on the 918 (which is sort of like the ST in regards to showing off technology/features that will make it to other Porsches down the road).

Thanks Tom I'm aware... just meant that Porsche needs to get on the ball personally.

True. Just hard to believe something so widely praised gets a pass while something so widely panned (Panamera external styling) gets built.

good idea on their part, kill the dream car.. introduce the new panamera with the looks of the turismo.. sell thousands of them... then next year the new cayenne and macan will steal the rest of the people that didn't grab a panamera... then the next year.. 911 refresh..

they are VERY smart...

i can't wait to see the panamera refresh so i know what to look forward to on new cayenne.. had 2 of the 958;... loved the vehicle.. served me very well.. changes mean its only getting better!
