Am I the only one who thinks headlights on Pana stink?????
Guys,
I have a 2010 Pana Turbo and I must say that I think the headlights on this car suck!!! Granted, my 48 y/o eyes aren't the best, but I have owned a lengthy list of less expensive cars with much brighter headlights - both low beam & high beam.
Is there an aftermarket way to improve the brightness of the headlights on these cars?
Thanks to all!
Rob

I have a 2010 4S and a 2007 997. I think Porshe's HID lights are among the best in the business.
You may want to have the lights and/or your eyes checked. My eyes are 16 years older than yours.

I'm older than most people here and I find the lights to be the best of all my cars, present and past, including BMWs, Porsches, Audis, Alfa Romeo, VWs. Actually, brightness isn't as important as the shape and dispersion of the beams. Lighting tree tops doesn't aid spotting various creatures of the night.

Bi-xenon
Does your car have the optional Bi-Xenons? If your car doesn't have those, then that's the problem.
I concur with the other comments that my car's bi-xenons are as good as any lights I've had, particular the high beams which are fantastic.

My 2012 bi-xenons are excellent. When I first had the bi-x on a 5 series BMW with the lights that turn with the steering, I was just amazed. The Porsche system is tuned differently and I think I prefer it. The high beams are awesome as well.
I concur with disden - if you do have bi-x and you have problems, there may be an alignment/aiming issue.

Three Wheelin'
Phew....I just checked, and the bi-xenons are standard on the GTS model. I did not recall a box to select this option, and I would have phreaked out if I did not order them on this car. I have had them on all prior cars (once you have them, you cannot go back!), and the "daylight" visibility they create is awesome

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all of the helpful feedback on this topic.
The lights on my 2010 Pana Turbo come on gradually, like a flash bulb in slow motion, so I assume they are the bi-xexons. Moreover, I thoguht the bi-xenonx were standard on a 2010 Pana Turbo. Just in case I am mistaken, does anybody know the option code for bi-xenons and I will check on my sticker.
I am unfortunately going to have to conclude that most of my dissatisfaction is attributable to my lousy eyesight!!!
Thanks guys.

Bi -Xenon were standard on my 2012 - I also got option XEX - which was black surround on the bi-xenon lights. They should be listed under standard equipment on your sticker under lighting systems.

Rob, ..do not conclude that fast !
I have a Cayenne S, that has a lot of miles (..since we bought it), and over the time, I got the exact same feeling as you, ..to find that both HID bulbs started to have a kind opaque build-up, ..that reduced quite substantially the lighting. I bought a "new" set (I felt it was quite cheap) on eBay, to find, before installing them, that they also had (both) a kind of build up or residues (inside the bulb), returned them, to find a good set (fully transparent, 100% clean) and then ..my eyes were back to good !
Note that all the bulbs being mechanically a little bit "different", (the exact 3d position of the arc) means that to be optimal, you should have your lights re-adjusted after such change.
I have no idea about the Panamera, (I have no reason to change these yet, the lighting is still perfect), but on the Cayenne, changing both bulbs was a kind of 5min DIY !
