Default Poll: Servotronic

OK... It is a stinking $270 option, but it has me all balled up, and seems to be the biggest controversy with regard to the car. Never posted a "poll" before, but thought it be very helpful to others that are considering the car (and to me selfishly as well!)

PS. I don't own a Panny yet, but when I do get mine I'll be getting Servotronic.

Love it, makes a huge car feel half its size.

I'm not sure as I havent been able to determine if it is something that would be warranted or not. I am trying to determine exactly what is does for the driver.

I have it and haven't given it any special thought, it functions very nicely. The road feel at speed seems normal to me, nice to have with the fat tires at low speeds.

had 2011 cayenne w/ servo... it's ok.. feels fake
had 2012 cayenne w/o servo ... really enjoyed driving it more.
then 2012 carrera w/o servo ... again, really enjoyed it.
test drove a 2013 carrera w/ servo ..., remembered why i did not like it.

if you wanna have the "bentley" feel.. like your floating and disconnected from the road.. go w/ the servo... the wife will love it... but it feels "fake" anywhere below 30mph

if you want to feel the road, and honestly even a kid could easily turn the wheel at stand still.. opt out of the servo.

i tried to explain the difference to an ex once, and she just said "i dont have to turn the wheels as many times with the old one, but the new one feels better".

that being said, my entire stable right now lacks power steering at all.. but thats a different story...

i'd say go to dealer and see if they have one without servo, you will feel the difference immediately... also take it for a spin and do some low speed turns.. (u turns and such).. you'll still like the non servo i feel.

IS this the same as "power steering plus?"
