I just recently purchased a 2014 Panamera Turbo with the sport exhaust. Trying to figure out if I have an issue with the exhaust or not. If the car is off, the valve by the inner tailpipe on either side is open (which I’ve read up is normal). When I start the car, the valves stay open even with the sport exhaust button disabled. Here the kicker though. When I enable the sport exhaust, I can definitely hear a difference under throttle. It’s more of a deeper growl when I rev it. Also when I’m in sport/sport plus mode, I hear some pops that I don’t hear if I have the exhaust disabled. Is it normal for the turbo to have those valves always open? I can definitely hear a mechanical sound when I turn on/off the exhaust button.
It’s this valve I’m referring to. Obviously not my car but just to show the valve I’m referring to.
