Default Panamera GTS test drive!

Holy $hit! This thing is by far the tightest and most compelling Panamera I've driven...and I've driven the Turbo, Turbo S, Hybrid and 4S versions.

Sounds like a '68 Camaro, handles like a 991!

Seriously impressed.

Everybody that sees it is in awe! "Sexy car", "Awesome car", etc... way more reaction than you get in a 997 or 991.

I completely agree....posted similar a few weeks ago. When my current lease is up in 6 months, this is the car I am getting. I drove it back to back with the Turbo, and even for same money, I would take the GTS. It was beautiful, visceral, and confidence inspring. Plus, while the cosmetic changes are subtle, it simply looks way more aggressive than any other Panny.

Agreed. Though the Turbo is "faster" if just doesn't sound as good or come together as well. The GTS is dialed in like the GT3.

indeed.....the TUrbo was fast as phreak, but far too insulated from the road. My only concern about the GTS, is that this car would be my DD...do you think it would get too annoying? Iin other words, love the GT#, but clearly would not personally want to drive it every day. From what i remember, I think the saving grace on the panny is that if you just want to chill, it really is a nice, luxury car. But, hit those paddles, and that bad boy comes to life

No. It is as sedate as you need it to be, even with sport exhaust on. But roll down the windows and you can hear it blip every time the car slows down. Amazing car. I am so glad I got it instead of the turbo.

Thanks for the insight Terrence......how long have you had yours What color did you get? Also, what about the Stereo? I have seen much debate about the Burm versus the Bose on here

Just got it delivered to me a few days ago.

I got Bose and it sounds great. I don't blast my stereo, and without doing that, the driving environment in any car diminishes low to moderate volume music reproduction. I decided to put the money on PDCC instead. I am very happy with my spec.

Sounds like a great choice / option I'm comparable to you in taste even if not tracking car, for fairly aggressive DD fun, I assume the PDCC is a somewhat must have?

enjoy post some pics

Ugh, you guys are making the wait painful! Mine is September production, so I still have a solid 11-12 weeks probably.

I got the PDCC both for the potentially better handling and also the potentially better ride. So far, both do not disappoint.

Nice pics!

Still would like to know what makes the PGTS more sporty than a PTTS in sport + mode? Mechanically the only real differences should be the louder sound in the PGTS and the throttle blip noise, what else makes it less sporty? The two turbo shouldnt be the reason. People often say that the PTTS is less sporty, but what they actually mean is ...in comfort mode. THe PTTS feels like a kitten compared to the noisier and harder PGTS. But in sport + mode...I dont think so.

Sorry, I also dont get the look thing. You can get everything on a PTTS/PTT you have on a PGTS, sport design kit, SPort wheels etc., except for the matte exhaust tips and the rear bumper look. WOuldnt say those two things make it look sportier.

Not trying to be irritating, just dont get it.

Its just paint, no other cosmetic difference. Pretty sure Porsche customization lets you make the PTTS look like a PGTS.

But for its price, I agree, the PGTS gives you the most.

I believe most people are suggesting that the GTS is 98% of the Turbo, at like 75% of the price. I also felt that while the Turbo was superfast in sport+, it was boring....so quiet, so smooth, so fast.....boring

This I get, however, I also suspect that once you experience a powerkit turbo/turbo s in a straight line, you will be dropping that 98% down...

BTW on your question about the PDCC, I think it is a must, ok the leaning in the corner things is amazing, but I was looking for a car with it mainly because you get LSD/PTV in the package and I definately wanted the LSD. Also makes the car FEEL less heavy.

That said, the ptts engine sound is too quiet.

Cool...all sounds great. I am sure the PTTS is amazing..... just tons of dough, and while I'd love the bragging rights, I just can't justify it. Are you fortunate enough to have one?
