Default Picking up a 2012 Pano 4 tomorrow

I decided to get a Pano 4 for the wife. We are trading in a 2010 diesel ML350 for this. I went with the V6 as it is fast enough and we do have a 997 tt for the wild rides. I have read about the issues with oil consumption and other annoyances described on this forum, but nothing specific to the V6.

Has anyone here heard of issues or problems specific to that engine (other than the missing 100 horses left in the pasture)

I have a V8 and have not had "oil" issues, I typically get about 3,800 miles to the quart with mixed open highway/suburban driving. I did adhere to the break in recommendations and changed the oil after 5,000 miles. I also have an oil analysis done at every oil change, two so far and found the wear indicators very optimal. I do oil analysis on all my vehicles and boat as a matter of course to keep tabs on their conditions.

I have a 2011 Panamera Turbo with 1700 miles on it. While I am generally pleased with the car, I've added 3 quarts of oil so far (in response to the "Check Oil" warning each time, indicating the need to add 1 quart). That seems excessive to me, and I've informed the dealer who indicated that he was aware of this issue. I'm a long time Porsche owner and adhere to the break in requirements. So not sure where this will lead and will continue to carefully monitor oil usage.

I went to the dealership last night with my wife to get the Pano 4 and she did not like it as much as the P4S that was sitting in the showroom. So, after writing a much larger check, we will pick up the P4S tomorrow. I will ask the dealers about oil consumption to see their take on this.

Thanks for the input

So the P4S has taken its place among the P cars at home. What a machine. Going from that to the '84 is interesting. Does not make me like the 84 less, but rather appreciate it for what it was and is.

I did ask the dealer about the oil consumption and they assured me that should not be a problem. They did caution against overfilling as that could trigger a check engine light.

My 2010 Panamera Turbo consumed its first quart of oil in about 800 miles. Subsequent consumption declined gradually to about 1 quart every 2,500 to 4,000 miles depending on driving conditions. It seems to consume more on long, constant cruises than every day driving, which I find counter-intuitive.

I have about 40,000 miles on mine - picked up exactly two years ago.

So after having a few weeks to putter around in this incredible car, I have to say WOW! It is not a 911 of any form, but it is truly a epic combination of luxury and performance in a way I have not seen before. My wife and I considered many luxury cars but have to say that, whether it drinks oil or not, this is a well done machine. I have read to nitty posts about all the little flaws and have to say..........REALLY?

The Panamera is Basalt Black. It is just a shade under black and has metallic sparkle in it.
