911 to Panamera
Anyone went from a 911 to Panamera? I have a VF supercharged 996 cab.
I haven't been able to drive the cab much. It's not practical with 2 kids, they are very cramped in the back seat and a stroller won't fit in the trunk.

I went from a 2010 Carrera S to a new Panamera S. Great car but totally different. Kept it 4 months and went back to Carrera 4S. For me, it was just too big and too soft - BUT I've been driving 911's for over 30 years so I'm probably not a good comp.
If you need a sedan, the Pan is fantastic but its no 911.

I owned 3 911s and went from a 993C2S to the Panamera 4S; never looked back. While I enjoyed all the 911s, I passed the stage of my life where I need to be a road racer. The 4S gives me the performance I occasionally need for self-gratification, but more importantly it is comfortable and it's Jekyll and Hyde personality fills my boy racer requirements while giving me elbow room and comfort on long hauls.

We are looking at either the 4S or Turbo as the next family car in our stable. After having a loaner from the local dealer for 3 days it convinced us that this was a great balance for my need to get the kids (and me) smiling and still have my wife happy on long trips.

I had a similar family situation and I made the switch 2 wks ago. Traded in my 2007 C2S cab for a Panamera S. So far,so good. I know I will miss the raw tactile feeling of the 997 and the PSE. However I will not miss trying to squeezing my kids into the back, needing a daily driver, or the 6MT on my short, crappy commute.
Most importantly the Panny really is an amazing vehicle! I would recommend the 4S over the S.

I didn't exactly go from a 911 to a Panamera - I have both.
The Panamera obviously wouldn't keep up with the GTS on a windy road or on a track. But with that said, I'm absolutely amazed at how well the Panny handles, particularly given its size.
If I had to make a long drive I'd pick the Panny in a heartbeat. It's very comfortable, carries more (both people and stuff) and feels like it wants to cruise all day long at 120 mph. (If only!) My Panny is also an awd model so it's my ski car. The GTS is more fun to drive, but it also gets tiring on a long drive between the rougher ride, noise, etc. I've driven Panny's on the track, but only PCNA demo cars in which I was using up their tires and brakes. My GTS goes through tires quickly on the track, but I've seen a Panny wipe out a brand new set of tires in a single day on an AX track. Imagine what it would do at a DE!
