launch control pre-flight sequence
just read the thread on launch control....I forgot all about this and want to try it...who has the quick and dirty method to do this (from experience) and what should I look out for and how much road room do I need for this?

Launch Control Methods
Read the Owners Manual.
The following are my opinions:
1. Leave it in Drive. Let the PDK shift for itself. It is better than 99% of drivers.
2. Press the brake pedal solidly but not hard. Just slightly more pressure than you would use at a stop sign.
3. I leave the gas pedal FULLY depressed for about a second, then glance down to ensure Launch Control is activated in the dial just to the right of the Tachometer.
3. Ensure you have a clear and SAFE path ahead of you for at least 2000 feet. Keep your head looking ahead of you, not the dash, tsch, speedometer, etc.
4. Only then release the brake and HAVE FUN.
PS - It does put quite a bit of strain on the drivetrain, so I would recommend to use it minimally. The car is quite fast off the line without Launch Control. It only saves about 0.2 seconds!!
