Wink $ 165,000 Panamera Turbo

Saw a $ 165,000 Panamera Turbo today at Newport Beach dealer.........what else would you buy for that money that is a 4 seater?

Maybe 2 cars? I might buy a low mile preowned 2005 SL65 AMG ($ 65,000) and a brand new 2010 E63 AMG ($100,000) for the same money......or a 430 Ferrari that would probably hold its value better.......hmmmm..........

i think i would buy a lexus jeep for myself, an c200 for my wife and an audi a4 for my son... whole family happy... well except me..

i think people who would buy a panamera turbo don't need 2 cars (especially a used SL65 and a E63) coz they probably already have 5 better cars....

people who will have same concern as you would most likely go for lower panamera models... i think porsche might have done more marketing than u...

Default Marketing understood

Thanks for comment....I understand the price positioning/consumer targeting but question whether real value is there for a loaded 165k Turbo Panamera versus other luxury 4 door cars (or the buying 2 for 1 fun scenario)....other 4 door quality options may have more value for the money at a slightly lesser price...750 or 760 Bmw, Maserati Q sport, Mercedes S63 or even E63, Audi 6 or 8, etc.... also - Base Panamera on lot was 111,000.....guess it is always up to eyes of the beholder....probably sticker shock on my part....maybe just buy Porsche Turbo cab for 20k less and have no buyers remorse, even though totally different proposition....even though I could buy the Panamera Turbo if I really wanted....question the price for it as being too high? Not convinced yet on Panamera...even after test rides in all 3 Panamera models...Hmmmm....Cayenne S or Turbo may be better value and utility for the money for a 4 door Porsche?

My Panamera Turbo cost 165. I didn't consider any 2 for the price of 1 bargains. It was just what I wanted and just like I wanted it to be. I've seen a few others in the same price range sell over the last couple of weeks.

I left off the adaptive cruise control because I had it on a Mercedes once and never used it. Also, the natural olive, I believe, is more expensive than the anthracite birch. And the adjustable rear seats I could do without. The one thing I wish I had gotten was the ceramic brakes. I've had them before on 3 Porsches and one Ferrari and they are definitely worth it.

Cayenne turbo S is actually in that territory. No regrets so far

Default in common

4 seats or more....for more than 2 people..)with the Audi, probably S8, etc..editors of several car magazines also listed several of the cars I alluded to, so there must be some similar thoughts for comparisons...i.e. Car and Driver and Motor Trend...

Default Panamera Turbo's

engine sound alone is worth $165k...just kidding... but on a more serious note I heard it the other day for the first time, what a sweet sound...

Another alternative, though it's still more money at $200K, is the Aston Martin Rapide. It is gorgeous, which I don't think can be said about the Panamera. Not as fast as a Panamera Turbo, but the sound of the V12 makes up for it. Back seat is smaller too, but still quite useable.
