Opinion on Pre-owned......
I agree that some people can afford or make the choice to buy new super luxury cars (greater than 100K), enjoy the newness as a first owner and also knowing that they willingly will take the depreciation hit in the future............. I have done both..............
Choosing to retire early, I am watching my money a bit more these days, plus my generous car allowances (sic) that paid 100% for my previous 2 Porsches, MINI and E39M5 are no longer there....
If you can find a 2 years or less car with following attributes:
Non abused
Garaged
Non-smoker
Brand new looking luxury car (that used good solid materials to begin with) Minimal miles - less than 10,000 after 2 years - I have found 3 or 4 that way
Remaining factory or having certified pre-owned warranty
Flawless service history
No design or engineering issues, i.e. 911 IMS issue, Cayenne electrical, etc..
This...... sometimes can be the way to go and it still can be quite a rewarding experience........as a new purchase.....
Saving 10's of thousands of dollars as a second buyer makes the proposition really worth it for the right car.......
I agree with an earlier poster, George from MD, that a Panamera Turbo or 4S that will be a couple of years old will sell around 80 -100K and hopefully there will not be any serious design or engineering issues.........the 4 door cars may have a tendency for more use as a 4 seater, so us Porsche nuts finding one under the two year point with low miles may be a challenge..
