Default WA26 SERVICE ACTION. REPLACING ALTERNATOR

Total of 2513 US and Canadian vehicles fall within the scope of this Workshop Campaign. Just a heads up, your brand new Panamera might need a alternator.

.....under certain conditions, the voltage regulator on the generator can stop working at high engine speeds. If this happens, the generator warning light in the instrument cluster will be activated and the vehicle electrical system voltage can be interrupted. As a result, the PDK transmission may switch to the reduced driving program (limp-home mode). To remedy the situation, the generator needs to be replaced.

My car is to be built on 3/18. Do you think they have fixed this problem on the cars currently being made? Would hate to need a new alternator first thing out of the box...OTOH, it's better than un-intended acceleration!

Back when it happened to Audi 5000s, NHTSA finally called it "pedal misapplication".
