Default Panamera design stolen from GM!

2003 Chevy SS concept. Interesting overlap.

I think if GM actually made cars like this, they might not have to beg for a bail out!

Folks, your comparing a concept car from GM to a Porsche nearing production. As much as I'm not keen on the Panamera styling, I understand it takes alot more effort to actually take a concept to fruition. This comparision is bunk.

That car is stunning and I don't think the comparison is bunk at all. It shows where Porsche could (and should) have gone. The Chevy may be a concept (and a Chevy!) but it's infinitely better looking than a Panamera. It's nice to know there are still some folks in GM who know how to design a car.

To echo Frank Sinatra's comments about the 1961 XKE- (if it were a Porsche) I want it and I want it now. If the Panamera looked like that I'd be buying it. As I think it is one of the butt ugliest things with four doors I won't. It will be interesting to see how many folks on here defending it will actually speak with their wallets and buy one.

Panamera = real (soon to be) production vehicle
Chevy SS = concept car.. maybe just a concept rendering.

GM has tendencies to produce concept vehicles solely to generate interest in an existing marque. Often, they never make production. I understand this applies to most auto mfgs, but Chevy is the worst. They rarely produce an innovative, genuinely unique sports car. And if anyone cites the retro Camaro, I will **** cheerios out my nose!

There really is no comparison here, unless you just want to wave around pretty pictures.

Good eye Eric. Lots of similarities for sure. I like the looks of that Chevy. And the more I look at the Panamera, the more I like it.

I don't really agree that these two have much in common, other than being sporty four-seaters.

But I do agree that if Chevrolet would build cars with styling as exciting as this, they would likely do better these days.

At the same time I think that of the big three, GM has the most attractive models. But they also have lots that I don't understand...

The Panamera will make its way, but probably stronger in emerging markets where the perception of the Porsche brand is not as closely linked to the 911 as it is here.

The very sad reality is that the Chevy won't be built but should be (as the new rwd Impala replacement) and the Panamera will be built but shouldn't be....
