Default Oil leak close to oil filter

Evening, all. Am wondering if I can get some thoughts from you. I topped up the oil a few days ago in my 2014 Panamera 4S as I noticed it was starting to get a little low (going down at the usual rate - nothing worrying). When I filled up I noticed the bottom of the under tray below the engine looking a little wet, and then a small amount of oil on the driveway. I ran my hand around in the area and there was oil close to the oil filter fitting, but not too the extent to which it makes me think it's leaking at the filter.

I'm getting it booked in to be diagnosed, but I've heard people saying it could get well be the timing chain cover which could be a big job to get treated and sealed. From the really poor pics and description I've written, does that sound like it could be the stress is leaking from? Whether expensive or not it'll need to be fixed, but just trying to get some early thoughts on what it could be.

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.

Yes. Most likely leak from the timing chain cover or the cam covers. Known issue with V6 and V8 Porsche engines across all models (Cayenne, Macan, Panamera). I’ve dealt with this (twice!). Very expensive when out of warranty or no aftermarket warranty. Porsche bulletin (attached) says that proper reseal is with engine out. First P-dealer tried to do work with engine left in place and failed. Second dealer did it the “proper” way and car has been dry for almost 3 years. Very finicky work needing extreme attention to detail so careful who does the work.

Thanks for the reply and insight. Looks like a delightful job! I'll get my independent Porsche specialist to take a look at it. If the leak is minimal and it is an engine out job then I may just live with it for a little while and see if it gets worse. If it does....well it'll have to be done then.
