Default Changed engine air filter at 43k, is this dirty?

2.5 hrs of works in my garage just to change an air filter. Tons of screws. WTF is the design.

Thats dirty enough to replace for me. For the cost of 40-60 bux for the filter, I don't thin its worth it to wait.

My last filter had 20K on it and it was filthy. Not sure how 40K on a filter is realistic.

Not super dirty, but dirty enough that I'd want to replace it.

Best thing to do is take a side by side pic of the old and new filter. That always shows the color difference.

After changing the filter I swear the Germans have a works job program for fastener manufacturers. Better than clipping parts together but it’s crazy.

Not really but if I had removed the bumper cover to get that out I would still replace it, then not think about it for another 40K miles LOL.

If you pull the pleats apart with your fingers you will see how much dirt is actually up in the filter.

Agree on the comments above - it's dirty enough to change but not dirty to a concerning level.

I saw explanation that panamera's air filter is much larger than other car's, so it could be changed, as guide says, every 80k. (maybe because there is so much labor needed to change panamera's, so those Germany enlarged the airfilter)
Some guide and people says 40k, I think it's more reasonable.
I already changed it, ofc. I am not gonna reinstall the old one back after spending so much time to open the air box, lol.

I guess GTS does need more air, mine is 3.6NA.

Extra intake stuff on the GTS is more about sound than it is horsepower

The side intakes (left & right) are closed at lower RPM. The side intakes are opened at the higher end of the powerband for increased combustion.

FWIW, I've done exactly this engineering development (intake optimization and sound signature) for my OEM (not Porsche) a couple times, so I feel like I have a good handle on what to expect.

I stand by my statement that it makes more difference for sound than power. No matter what the marketing department says, lol.

I'm with you on this as the GTS is de tuned from the Turbo model even though its the same engine. The HP is significantly lower.

I wonder if i can add this to my turbo to give it more noise. I like the noise.
