Default Tires for 2017 Panamera Turbo

Getting close on my tires. I have had the car since last April, so this will be my first tire purchase for it. Usually, I use Tire Rack. Planning on all seasons. Any words of wisdom?

NO or NDO rated Michelins are tires specifically engineered for the Panamera. Not sure if those come in all-season though.

Well, I did an internet search without success. What do NO and NDO stand for?

You can order Mercedes tires too. Porsche tend to be wider but Mercedes spec tires (MO1) will be fine.

NO is the designation on the tire for Porsche.

many likes the Michelin all season A/S.

I highly recommend Michelin AS4s, if available in the size you need. 👌🏼

From Tire Rack. My experience with tire shops is you have to make sure they shipped in the right tires before they install. I always insist I come look at them before they install b/c on more than one occasion I have had the warehouse ship the wrong code (often Mercedes MO) and the shop doesn't notice.

I just put on A/S 3's from Costco on mine. They didn't have the porsche rated ones in stock. I didn't want to wait. Got them for 1500 installed.

I currently have the 20 inch Continental DWS 006+ all season on my Panamera, and they are great. I had to buy a second set of wheels so I could drop down to 20 inch sizes. I assume you have 21 inch wheels. I don't believe Continental have the 21 inch sizes for the Panamera available yet. The Michelin AS4 are now available in our 21 inch size and would be my choice. The Michelin AS3 is two generations back, superseded by the AS3+ and then the new AS4. Each new generation has gotten them closer to summer performance tires. The Pirelli P7 isn't a ultra high performance tire and should be avoided from a performance perspective.

I wasn't recommending that specific tire, just showing the OP where he can find the Nx/NDx designation listed per his above response.

I do think however that most of the N-spec tire options are not all-season. There are also N-spec winter tires (I have N-spec Michelin Alpin's on my winter Panamera wheels).

Thanks for all of the feedback. Much appreciated. Pirelli is the most expensive but not best performing? Is there a premium for the NO designation?

Once a version of a tire has the Porsche N designation, there isn't a strong incentive to "recertify" a newer revision of the tire. Take the Michelin AS3 N0 as an example. That tire was introduced ten years ago. Since then they added the AS3+ and then the AS4, which are both superior but neither have a Porsche spec. Keeping an obsolete tire in production may actually cost more to produce and distribute. I had AS3 N0 tires on my Panamera, and they don't compare favorably with the current AS offerings from Michelin and Continental. My current Continentals are far superior to the AS3 N0 I had and I would assume the AS4 are as well based upon the TireRack tests of those two tires. Neither have a Porsche spec version at this time.

maybe a few dollars but not significant vs Mercedes. Tire Rack tend to have more Mercedes spec tires in inventory vs Porsche so easier to get. So more about availability vs cost.

It would be REALLY hard to beat Michelin A/S 4s (or whatever their latest A/S model is). I love A/S4s, which I'll be getting once my PS4s need replacing.
