It would be nice if it could happen, but the dealer is worthless and clueless, and Porsche USA is as well as far as this Sat. Nav. issue. OR, they just don't want to help. I have spent way too much time emailing, and talking with them.

I just did this update and it worked perfectly. I formatted it the long way and then extracted the file to the card. That took awhile to extract and format. Put it in the system and it had no issues seeing the update. The update took about 30 min to complete.
Great work to whoever posted the files and such.

Well, No Joy after my first attempt. Nothing changed, and the only thing I saw during the software update was something to do with Gracenote. I turned the car off after the software supposedly updated (3Minutes to load) and there was no changes indicated on the PCM. I used the Porsche card, part # 971 919 360 AA.

OK, but if it is THAT easy why won't the dealer do the job, or even acknowledge the campaign, and fix my sat view. Can I do this myself? How about offering up a 12 step course on how to do this. I would be grateful, as I am sure would be a few other people. I am fairly computer literate, most of the time.

Since you bought the offical update card from Porsche, why don’t you give it a go.
Insert the SD card to SD1. To enter the engineering menu, you press the center **** + media (press center **** first while pressing center **** press “media”), keep pressing both buttons for a few seconds. It will take you there.

I just finished updating / flashing my PCM update using the Porsche software Porsche card, part # 971 919 360 AA to regain the Satellite view, and it worked. I appreciate the info about having to enter the engineering menu. I don't know why Porsche USA and my useless local stealer were no help over the last couple of years even though I showed them the printout of the WMD1 workshop campaign which was supposed to be provided under warranty. I Do have an extended warranty.
I did say a short prayer before I did the update. The process was not completely intuitive, but after inserting the flash card into slot 1 I turned the car ON, then pressed the center button on the top of the console in front of the shifter and while holding it down pressed media which is to the left. This brought the engineering menu up on the PCM screen and there I entered the software update, two options are presented, and only Custom works. The next screen shows a lot of stuff, so scroll down to the bottom and select update. Then don't turn off the car, and watch the progress as it updates 7 areas, and reboots several times. Finally when it is all done after about 15 minutes there is nothing about it being finished, except there is a notice at the bottom with regards to backing up the system while hooked up to a computer, which I cancelled, or to remove the flash card. I let it go for a couple of minutes, the Maps appeared, and then I looked at the map menu, and saw that Google Earth was gone, and it now said Satellite view. I checked the box, and NOW it works. Then I turned the car OFF, and removed the flash card from slot 1, and went through all the various menus in the PCM. Everything is there as before and works well in my 18 e-hybrid Panamera4,,,Finally! There is a small line of script from Maxxar technologies across the upper part of the satellite view as there was in a Macan loaner last year. Disclaimer: I am Not responsible should anyone try to do this update, which should be done by your dealer, but it did work for me on my own car, and the Car is now Silver in the PCM.
