Default "Sticky" throttle in 2018 Panamera Turbo

Does anyone else notice that when "gunning it" that the throttle feeds the engine a little bit longer than after you take your foot off the pedal? It's not that the pedal itself is sticking, but it's as if the computer is feeding fuel for a split second after you get off the gas. In our Cayenne, as soon as your foot comes off the gas, the throttle predictably comes off as well, but the Panamera seems a little more unpredictable. Not a fan of this in tight city driving.

Are you talking about gear hold after pedal lift? How long have you owned the Panamera?

I’ve read about this on manual transmission cars (not Porsche) and is programmed to help emissions.

We've had it for about 4 years. It's done this ever since I can remember, and it's not just gear hold. It's like the fuel pump keeps sending fuel for an extra fraction of a second after you get off the throttle - like a lagging response to getting off the gas.

Mine does this when driving "hard". So does my Macan GTS. When cruising calmly it does not.

Agreed. It's only when you briefly floor it or punch the gas. Our Cayenne on the other hand never does this.

Sounds like you are experiencing gear hold. It's a transmission programming/logic thing.

Is "gear hold" not just when the car stays in a lower gear instead of upshifting?

My '18 ST Turbo does this also; I assumed it is simply the turbos and fuel system sort of 'over-running' for a second.....(I try not to do this too much in heavy stop & go traffic.....)
