Default Wrapping a Panamera?

I have a 2017 steel grey Panamera Turbo (FWIW loaded). I am not crazy about the color (my wife and my neighbors think I am crazy). I have been told not to paint it a different color as that would lower its value (though I plan to drive it into the ground), and in any event could cost $20,000. So I am thinking in terms of a wrap. There are two possible places in the Portland, OR area (I live in a WA suburb of Portland). The one that seems like the better operation would charge about $6500, the other around $3500, about half. The $3500 place actually has good reviews, but looks like a vastly smaller operation, the kind of place where it would not be surprised if it suddenly disappeared. I think it is pretty much a 1-person shop, no real staff. The more expensive place looks much more solid, a manager, receptionist, a real shop in the back, also sells wheels, etc (503 Motoring if you know the Portland area). There are also two kinds of wrap, the pick a color, 3 mm wrap, good for a few years, cannot go into a carwash unless it is touchless. The other option is essentially a sealant, an 8 mm wrap. It used to only be clear, but now comes in a few colors. I could go with black, which I like well enough, though the a color would increase the cost to $7,000 at 503 Motoring. The 8 mm has a lifetime warranty. Over the next couple of years the Panamera is likely to spend a fair amount of time outdoors, so I feel some kind of wrap is necessary (after that it should be mostly garaged again). Any words of wisdom?

Buy black turbo. Sell your steel grey.

Ours is wrapped an we much prefer its new color. Gray is a decent color to wrap as you can leave the door jams gray and never notice. (Jams are exceedingly difficult/expensive to wrap.) Do not make your selection based on price. The amount of disassembly/reassembly required is daunting. Find a place that has done other high-line German stuff or don’t expect your back-up sensors and power mirrors to be okay. We’re happy with ours (KPMF) but it is softer than paint and requires a gentle touch. On the other hand, we can get it re-wrapped “good as new” several times before paying for a paint job, and surely a 10 year-old paint job will acquire some beauty marks.
