Default Air Con Leak

Hi all,

I had an issue whereas the drivers side aircon was perfectly freezing and the passenger side was warm both front and rear. Took it to garage who performed a recharge as it was indeed low but subsequently halted the refill due to a leak that i now need to book it back in for.

1. Would this make sense having half the car cold? Does the system stop half the car from blowing cold air if its low?
2. Where is the leak likely to be, any ideas or typical failure points on these cars?

When my ac needed a recharge, it had the same symptoms. One side cold and the other had nothing.

That is typical behavior for German vehicles when refrigerant is low.

I actually just got done rebuilding the whole ac system in my 2012 panamera over the last few days. when I went to replace the filter in the condenser I noticed wet on the condenser. found out it was compressor oil. my compressor started to scream loud so I was forced to make repairs. I use to have to rev up my car hard to get the ac to work. ended up replacing the expansion valve, compressor, condenser with new filter pre installed. had to get a special tool to solvent clean out all the lines. mine did have the same issue were one side was colder than the other just like yours also.

Update: air con re-gas fixed the one sided operation. I had a leaking valve too.
