It fixed the issue!

It was delayed due to parts, didn’t matter as they gave me a 22 Panny 4 Plat Edition as loaner

Noise is gone, Porsche came through
hope this helps others in same situation

Do you by chance have an image of the work order or what they fixed that I could take it to my Porsche dealer? Anything would be of great help.. this noise is terrible

thank you in advance.. so glad it worked for you

I’ll post receipt of work done when I receive. They emailing me copy.

When I brought vehicle in I explained situation and flipped them the doc Thunderthumbs provided. The first go around, there was an unaddressed recall that they performed only. Gave car back and told me to advise if repair resolved. Second go, pushed them to review the doc. They did and it worked. I was skeptical at first, but noise is gone!
As for warranty questions, it’s weird how this played out as factory is no longer. I did purchase a 3rd party warranty, but didn’t have to use it. Porsche never asked about warranty or payment of any kind. When I asked about costs, “Sir, it’s covered” was all I got. This Porsche dealership Rocks!

Once I receive receipt / copy, will post for reference

PorscheVonder,

From what I gathered from Porsche rep when I picked up car, he explained to me it was “teeth” off a gear that had sheared off. If you look at parts in list, you’ll see a gear was ordered as well. Maybe that’s why it’s covered by manufacturer. I don’t know, only assuming.

Once I receive receipt, will post as I know how much that ticking sound ruins the Porsche experience.

That's a nice result; miles away from how my dealership treated the matter. You by chance in the NY/NJ area? If so, uh, who's your dealer... ??

THANK
YOU!!! I am taking photos that you posted to the dealer in town to show them what was done.

I’m so upset, I hate driving my car as the noise is so terrible

Default Finally fixed!!!

Just picked her up from the dealer. It was the balance shaft wheel described above. They also replaced the timing chain to be sure it wasn’t that slapping.

I’m so happy!!!

Default Same issue

Hey guys, got the same issue with my 18 Pan e-hybrid. I shown my dealer this thread, he told me if anyone is able to provide a list of the work done by your dealers that solved the issue so he can perform the same and ask Porsche to cover it as well.

Many thanks for anyone able to help.

AeroNut,
Amazing thread, thank you for sharing,

just had a quick question though, by "noise" Are you referring to the "rattling" noise in the Video IMG_2260 from 0:02-0:06, or the the "clicking" / "ticking" Noise in the same video from 0:06-0:08.

I have the clicking noises from 0:06-0:08, but I suspect that actually is the normal injector sounds.

Thanks in advance.
